WOMEN HEAL THROUGH RITE & RITUAL

This palette is inspired by the warm colors in the exhibition, complementing the copy and allowing the artists' vision to shine.
I explored the concept of the overlapping dressing of bandages as a tactile ritual of healing and a rite of passage through their unwrapping.
The concept is echoed in the transparent overlapping of letters in the names and titles throughout the catalogue. However, each name repeats in a highly legible treatment that clearly expresses their names.
Bely was designed by Roxane Gataud. The display font is "incisive, playful, stylish, and innovative." The bold shapes and hairlines are dramatic and quirky.
Lexend was designed by Dr. Bonnie Shaver-Troup and Linnea Lundquist to be a clean and clear typeface that is easy to read and can be more legible to those with reading problems.
I would like to thank my wonderful client, Myrtis Bedolla, and the incredible artists in the catalogue: Lavett Ballard, Tawny Chatmon, Oletha DeVane, Shanequa Gay, Delita Martin, Elsa Muñoz, and Renée Stout.
